ONLINE PARTIES
When someone adds me as a friend on Facebook in regards to having an online party I reply with
“ Hello! Thanks for adding me! I am a Younique presenter! Not sure if you have heard about our makeup products, but we have a 3D fiber lash mascara that is out of this world! It increases your lashes by 300%! The best part is, you can actually earn that and other FREE products by hosting a virtual party on FB! All you need to do is invite your friends - I do the rest! So if you’re ready I will set that up for you?!
-After they say YES
- Reply with “ Awesome! I will set that up for you right now!”
SET UP THE PARTY AND NOTIFY THE HOSTESS
“Ok so I just added you to the group party! All you have to do is go to the party and on the right hand side of the page under the about section, you can add your friends into the party! Add as many people as you can!! I will handle the rest!! I’ll be posting everyday an interacting with your friends and we will be working together to make sure you earn some FREE products! So if you want to encourage them it will help you more. Your friends will be more willing to buy a product if you are backing it up and talking about how much you love it! You can also share your party link posted in the party page through your social media (facebook, twitter, instagram) Also, remember that the more people you add the better the chances of you getting more points to use and spend. I look forward to the next 10 days and getting to know you and your friends better!! “
GROUP PARTIES
This information comes from two awesome TOP sellers: Shari Brown and Holli Brown (not related). These are tips for doing a party with a facebook group.
HOW to SET UP YOUR PARTY:
1. Go to YOUR website (if you are on another
presenter's website the part will be creating under them).
2. Click on"MY OFFICE"
3. Click on "Schedule New Parties"
4. Fill in the host name- it will find them on Facebook as long as your friends with them. If it's a stranger add them as a fb friend first then make them a party.
5. Change the name of your party to something like, "Suzie's AMAZING 3D MASCARA Online Party". Add a welcome message. Something fun and upbeat! My last one said:
"Let 2014 be he year you leave behind eyelash extensions and false lashes for a
"mascara" that creates amazing lengths! Msg me for more photos and video demos
to see if our 3D Fiber Lash Mascara is the stuff you've been dreaming
of!"
6. Click on the length of the party. I always do
10 days.
7. Click "save my party".
8. Younique will send both you and the new host an email.
In the email will be a link to their
party. You can also find the link by going to your "parties" and clicking
on their new party and highlighting the URL at the top of your browser.
9. Go onto FB and create a GROUP for them.
(if you aren't sure how- watch the tutorial listed at the top of the page).
Don't create an event. Groups make it so more people are likely to see
your posts versus an Event. Not EVERYONE will see all your posts- but more
people will. I always choose the same lil icon so when I pull up my
list of groups I know exactly which are my hosting
groups.
10. Name your parties all something similar. Use "online" and "3D Mascara" People don't yet
know the name Younique and "lashes" makes it sounds like it's fake lashes-
which they are not.
11. Make the party "CLOSED" so that every post isn't bombarding my regular FB
friends. It's not a big deal if you only have one party going, but when you get
several going at once, you're friends will go nuts if they are seeing 15 posts
a day! Go to the top right of the page, click on the little cog icon, then Edit
Group Settings.
HOW TO WORK YOUR ONLINE PARTY:
Okay- now it's
time to get your party all ready for your guests. I suggest adding several
posts before you have the hostess invite people.
1. PIN THIS (or something similar) TO THE TOP
OF YOUR FACEBOOK GROUP:
Welcome to Carolyn's Magic 3D Lash Mascara
Party!! This party is 100% online so get comfy in your pj's in your own
home and join us for some fun games and chances to win some awesome prizes.
Feel free to browse the party posts and ask questions. We're so excited
to share with you this Awesome new products: Younique 3D Fiber Lashes!!
Goes on like mascara but increases the length and thickness of your own
natural lashes. No extensions, fake lashes, glue, or latisse! Check
out the great photos and videos below. Win EXTRA products by earning
points!! One of the easiest ways to earn points is to like my facebook
page: Younique with Michelle Bell. You will also get 1 point for each
person you personally add to the group. Prizes will be mailed out at the
end of the party!

(doing points is totally optional but may be a good way to encourage more

HOW TO PIN A POST IN A GROUP
To pin a post, hover your cursor over the top right
corner of the post and you'll see an arrow appear that is a drop down menu.
Click "pin post". Keep it pinned for the first 3 days and then you can unpin
it. But GET ALL OF THIS DONE BEFORE you have your hostess invite her people.
Think of it like getting your house ready for your guests to arrive. You want
to have all of the tidying up done before they get
there.
2. MAKE IT LOOK NICE
Make sure you get a nice, professional looking banner up at
the top of your group page, you type out your welcome post and use an eyelash
pic, and pin that to the top of the party. Always include a picture with every
post! I think the best lash pictures compare the customer's old favorite
mascara look to her NEW favorite mascara look. Pictures of bare lashes vs. 3D
Mascara lashes don't tell the same story. People want to see what the lashes
used to look like when they were all made up, and what they look like
NOW!
3. INVITE
Have your hostess invite all of their FB friends. 100 people is the recommended minimum but you
want more than that! I coach my hostesses and tell them exactly this, "My most
successful parties have between 200-400 guests and the hostess comments on
posts, tags friends she thinks would love the 3D Mascara, and posts before and
after pics of her lashes. The more active you are in the group, the more active
your party will be, and the more rewards you will earn." The hostess can then
post a welcome message to her friends. ** If your hostess hasn't
tried the lashes yet, WAIT ON THE PARTY!!! ** Do not waste a party on
a hostess that hasn't fallen in love with the mascara yet! Tell her that you
are thrilled that she wants to host, but she will earn so much more in rewards
if she can speak from experience and post pictures of her own lashes. That is
when my parties explode, when the hostess posts her own lash pics!
Now, just because you've set up a group doesn't mean everyone will see it.
Have the hostess pick out those that she really wants to check it out and
to send them a private individual message. NO MASS MESSAGES. To each
person she sends this msg to she needs to tell them about the facebook
party. The goal is to remind her friends to take a peek at what she’s
planned. It needs to be short and sweet and it needs to include the group
link
You need to help make it a little easier for her so she can just
COPY & PASTE this invitation to her friends. ... She doesn’t need to come up
with it-- You tell her what to write.
EX: (side note- I missed a few
words in the invitation example - but this gives you a good idea)
“Hey Mary,
I thought of YOU. Did you see the
group I added you to? There’s this new amazing mascara that I’m in love
with. I’m doing a fb party and invited you.
It’s 30 minutes and
it’s happening right here on facebook. So you can stay in your
jammies!
So check it out if you want: (insert link to group
here)
Thanks!”
4. HIGHLIGHT THE MASCARA FOR THE FIRST SIX DAYS
At this point you're probably thinking, "Shari, we sell more than just mascara. Why would I call it
a mascara party?" That's because in my parties I ONLY SELL MASCARA! That's it.
At least for the first 6 days or so. Depending on the crowd and the flow of the
party's questions and response, I have had parties where I have only talked
about mascara until the last day! Here's why...there are LOTS of cosmetic
companies out there, and I've worked for most of them. If you post about a
different product every day, even if those products are FANTASTIC (which they
are!), your busy customer is only paying half attention and she sees makeup in
her newsfeed. In her mind, her friend Mary is having a makeup party. She
doesn't need makeup, she likes what she's using. You've just lost a customer.
~faints~ But here's what happens when you only post lash pictures... the first
day this customer gets a notification that she is in a group called "Mary's
AMAZING 3D MASCARA Online Party!". She thinks, "Who on EARTH has a mascara
party?? It must be special." Then she sees an eyelash before/after pic. Wow.
She's intrigued. Then she sees another...next day she sees another. Now she's
got to check this out so she asks a question. Now she's engaged and you're
talking back and forth and every time you chat, and your hostess chats, all of
the 300 members of the group are getting notifications. Even the busiest person
will understand what it is you're selling if you keep your message simple and
just focus on the 3D Mascara. And no matter how happy a woman is with her
makeup, we ALL want longer lashs! In almost every party, after the ladies have
ordered, received, and loved their 3D Mascara, I always get this
question..."What's next?" They want to know what's my next recommendation.
Personally, I go to Glorious Face & Eye Primer and Awake, because they are
my next faves. In many cases, my hostess asks to start a second party so we can
now cover the rest of the line! #winning Just make sure you go back through
EVERY POST and swap out the new link for the old
link!
5. POST EVERY DAY
Make sure you're posting 2-3 times a day in the group.
This is REALLY important!!! Maybe post once in the morning and once in the
evening. Always post the party link any time you post a pic so that it's
easy for people to understand how to order and they don't have to go searching
for the link. I usually space down a few times to keep the party link separate
and I make it very clear for people,
"Click HERE to shop Mary's party...
< leave a space so your link will work properly! (insert party link
here)"
6. DON'T DELETE THE GROUP RIGHT AWAY
I like to keep the Groups around even after the parties are
over because 1 or 2 times a month I post the monthly specials or new product
info. I figure these are people that I wouldn't have access to otherwise, so I
don't like to let them go. It's also a great place to offer a free pigment or
lipgloss in exchange for hosting a party down the road, and the Presenter
opportunity!
The biggest thing is DON'T give up. You will have
parties that are a bust. So much depends on your host. Get your
host excited and on board and your parties will more succesful! Make sure
you host MORE than one party at a time. Shari hosts 10-15 parties at the
same time. If that's more than you want to do, find 3-5 friends to host
parties for you. The key is PARTIES WORK! They work for
sales, finding more hosts, and recruiting!
GET CONNECTED!
NEW Facebook Party Format
This is a helpful doc with a new way to try your Virtual Parties.
The idea behind it is to have the party ONE specific night for 30 minutes as a PRIVATE Facebook Event.
Helpful Hints
~Do not use groups. Instead create a private event on FB.
~ Hostess COACH let them know they will have to get their elbows a little dirty for free products! :)
~ Do NOT over post!
You should only post 1X/day on the preparty posts (about 3-4 days before party date)
You should only post 5X during your entire party (outside of the back and forth interaction with customers)
~ Use only QUALITY images
~Post an image with every post
~Do not make your event run too long. People get bored and you loose interest.
~Avoid confusion. If someone just "doesn't get it" get with them after the party.
~ Use a custom photo album on Facebook vs sharing your link to the website. This is to keep the guest on Facebook and engaged in the party!
The party should look like this from start to finish
Begin hostess coaching. Let them know you will create the party and they need to invite and interact.
Create a PRIVATE event on Facebook
The description on the event page should have a call to action. For example, "The fist 20 people to RSVP with join or maybe will be entered into a drawing for a FREE (an item of your choice)."
-The precieved value of the item should be $10-$15
The hostess will then send invites to the party AS WELL AS a PRIVATE message to each person she has invited.
The message should look something like this, "Hey Briana, I thought of you! Did you see the invite I sent you to my online party? There is this new AMAZING cosmetic line with crazy good fiber lash mascara! I'm doing a Facebook party on (party date and time). I invited you! It's a 30 minute party, here's the link (insert a link to the FB party). If you RSVP my hostess is doing a drawing for some free goodies!"
The first 2 days of the party should be invites and messages.
Then, the next 3-4 days should be "Pre-party posts" (These posts need a purpose)
(have your hostess tage some friends and start some convos on these posts. Build relationships)
DAY 1. Share an image and state what sets this product apart from the others
DAY 2. Post a "how to" use the product. You can use text and image or a video!
DAY 3. Funny post (ecard or clown wearing make up with caption "Join the party tomorrow to learn how to apply your makeup like a pro")
PARTY DAY
Post some top sellers earlier in the day.
Make a video for your hostess and send it to her in a PM! (this can be a generic video used for all parties)
"Hey girl! I am PUMPED for your party tonight! I just wanted to remind you to send out your reminders to the guests! We will talk tonight after I get your orders placed! Get excited for FREE!"
Send you host a reminder message to send her guests.
"Hey! Don't forget I'm having my CRAZY GOOD mascara party tonight at X-time, here's the link (Facebook Event Link)! See ya in there!"
Set your expectations and breakdown the party structure for your guest.
"Tonight's party will go a little something like this;
Each part is 4-5 minutes each!
We will start with a roll call and then head into a video that showcases some of my favorite things! After that comes a custom album of products put together just for you!
While looking at the album, when you see a picture of something you would like to order, simply leave the number f the picture (label the pics) and you email address. As soon as we are done here I will send an invoice to your email!"
Start Posting!
Post 1. ROLL CALL! Find out who is there! Maybe add an incentive for "checking in"!
Post 2. Post your video! (Make a generic video that can be used for multiple parties that showcases some products and how to apply them) ~4-5 minutes long and make it ENTERTAINING do not bore people or you will lose them!
Post 3. Post your picture album and interact with orders and questions. (Instructions on ordering should also be posted again) Spend 4-5 minutes here
Post 4. Close the party with your booking incentives and opportunity to join
For example;
"Want to earn your products free next time, let's book your party! Book it now and you will get a FREE Cosmetic Bag!" (that's and example of a gift for booking. You would give the gift at the close of the party that they book)
Post about the opportunity as well. "Think you would enjoy a living partying online? Message me about becoming a Younique Presenter!"
Post 5. Then of course close with a "BIG THANK YOU!"
